Frequently asked questions

There is no risk of radiation exposure during an MRI treatment because radiation is not employed. However, owing to the powerful magnet used, MRI cannot be done on individuals who have pacemakers implanted.

The liquid injected before an imaging test, such as an MRI or a CT scan is called Contrast. It helps to identify or see a structure or abnormality. To achieve maximum visibility, oral contrast may need to be given after a 45-minute wait period to allow the contrast to transit the length of the intestine. This chemical is administered to highlight (in high-resolution images) specific body areas and is gone in a day or two. It's generally taken orally or through injection. As the dye passes through the patient's body, he or she may experience a warm sensation.

We accept all major credit and debit cards, along with digital payment platforms (Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay, MobiKwik, Pine Labs etc.), and UPI payments. As per Covid-19 precautions, we discourage cash payments. You do not need to make an advance payment for any of the radiological tests.

Yes, you can. Being a non-invasive and safe radiology diagnostic test, there is no mandated limit on the number of tests that can be performed on patients. The frequency and quantity of the test depend upon the illness and the need for the tests.

Although not harmful to the human anatomy, yet the magnetic properties of the machine mandate certain precautions that must be observed before undergoing an MRI scan. These include:

  • Patients with implanted pacemakers and cardiovascular defibrillators can’t undertake an MRI scan.
  • Wallets, purses, belts, money clips, credit cards, jewelry, and any other metallic object should be removed before the scan.
  • Hair clips, hairpins, and even hair ointments should be removed before the scan
  • Hearing aids should be removed before the scan

An MRI may be able to detect structural abnormalities pushing against the nerve, allowing the issue to be resolved before irreversible nerve damage develops. A neurological examination can generally detect nerve injury, and MRI scan data can be used to confirm the diagnosis.

An X-ray is a fast and painless test which involves generating the images of your body structures specifically your bones. It utilizes a small amount of ionizing radiation and is the frequently used form for clinical imaging. X-rays are useful for diagnosing the fractured bones, detects any internal injury and infections like pneumonia, arthritis etc. You should reach out to the Redcliffe Labs to get your X-ray done. We have the most skilled and professional radiologic technologists who ensure performing the examination appropriately and precisely.

Patients can eat or drink something light for general imaging such as chest, feet, spine and hands. But for other imaging processes patients are asked not to eat or drink. It is for this reason that technologists can perform the best exam on an empty stomach.
